Treka Bus is pleased to confirm that Caerphilly County Borough Council has ordered two new Treka Mobility+ vehicles, further strengthening a long-standing partnership that now sees the council operating a fully Treka fleet.
Based on the proven Mercedes-Benz Sprinter coachbuilt platform, the vehicles will support the council’s adult social services transport operations, helping provide safe, comfortable and accessible travel for passengers across the region.
Caerphilly County Borough Council currently operates 14 vehicles, all supplied by Treka, including both Mobility and Mobility+ models. The addition of two further vehicles reinforces the council’s confidence in the reliability, quality and long-term performance of Treka conversions.
Wendy Herbert, Senior Transport Officer at Caerphilly Council commented:
“CCBC has procured Treka accessible vehicles for many years, consistently benefiting from their high-quality, specialist design and reliable after-sales support. Their team is professional, attentive, and responsive to service needs. Our drivers value the coach-built design, noting that the vehicle is comfortable, easy to drive, and well-suited to transporting individuals with dignity and independence. The spacious layout and bilingual Welsh-English signage further enhance its suitability for local authority services. We have now received the first of two new coach-built buses and are extremely pleased with the vehicle’s quality and performance and look forward to their continued support moving forward.”
The new vehicles will feature up to 16 passenger seats, offering flexible capacity for group transport while maintaining a comfortable and spacious interior, enhancing passenger comfort and durability, designed to withstand the daily demands of social service transport while delivering a high-quality travel experience.
Passenger comfort is further supported by the water climate control system, ensuring consistent heating throughout the vehicle. This system helps maintain a comfortable environment for passengers in all seasons.
Accessibility remains a key focus of the specification. Each vehicle has been fitted with an underfloor cassette lift, allowing safe and smooth wheelchair access while keeping the lift discreetly stored beneath the vehicle floor. This approach maintains a clean interior layout and maximises available passenger space. To support local service requirements, the vehicles also include bilingual Welsh and English decals and audible warning systems, helping ensure the vehicles remain fully aligned with local accessibility and communication standards.
The council cited the reliability of the Treka conversion, overall build quality, and the vehicle size being well suited to both drivers and passengers as key factors in selecting Treka once again.
With these new additions, Caerphilly County Borough Council continues to invest in dependable, accessible transport solutions that support communities and ensure passengers can travel safely and comfortably every day.
