Treka Bus has delivered a new Renault-based Everyday accessible vehicle to Open Country, supporting the charity’s work helping disabled adults access outdoor activities, countryside experiences and community travel across Yorkshire.

For more than 35 years, Open Country has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy the outdoors through accessible travel, walking groups, conservation projects, tandem cycling and a wide range of countryside activities. The charity’s work focuses on improving wellbeing, independence and social connection through outdoor experiences.

The new Everyday has been supplied as a flexible 13-seat vehicle with space for up to two wheelchair users, giving Open Country the adaptability needed to support its varied programme of activities and passenger requirements.

Built on the Renault Master platform, the vehicle includes a dual front passenger seat, fold-out side access step and internally mounted tail lift to provide safe and straightforward passenger access. Inside, 11 detachable seats with NMI mechanisms allow the layout to be quickly reconfigured depending on passenger numbers, wheelchair users and daily operational needs.

The adaptable seating arrangement was an important part of the specification for Open Country, allowing the organisation to easily tailor the vehicle around different activities and group sizes.

As an existing Renault operator, Open Country selected the Everyday following positive experience with the platform, alongside the practicality, manoeuvrability and flexibility the vehicle offers for community transport operation.

The delivery further strengthens Open Country’s existing fleet of five vehicles and continues Treka’s work supporting charities, community groups and specialist operators with accessible transport solutions designed around real operational requirements.
