The new e-Mobility and e-Mobility+ range tackles the barriers of acquisition cost, passenger capacity, accessibility, and whole-life cost facing electric specialist passenger transport.

Developed in collaboration with Renault Vehicle Innovation, the range has been created specifically for community transport, SEND, healthcare, local authority and demand-responsive transport operators that need to transition to zero-emission without compromising passenger capacity, accessibility or comfort.

To date, most electric vehicle platforms used in this sector are derived from van and parcel-delivery LCV’s at around 4.2 tonnes GVW. Once seating, wheelchair lifts, accessibility equipment, and specific components of the conversion are added, available payload significantly restricts useful and cost-effective passenger-carrying capability. Treka, as part of the Woodall Nicholson Group, already has unique industry insight and specific sector knowledge, and this, coupled with more than 200 years of UK-based coach-building experience and heritage alongside unparalleled capital investment, has enabled Treka’s dedicated 5-tonne electric platform to address these sector-specific challenges.

In summary, providing the payload required for configurations of up to 16 passenger seats or up to six wheelchair positions for the e-Mobility+ coach-built model, and up to 5 wheelchairs on the e-Mobility van model, results in a range of up to 250km / 150 miles depending on specification and duty cycle.

Central to the programme is Treka’s commitment to inclusivity and dignity. The vehicles have been designed in exclusive collaboration with a well-respected OEM around the needs of passengers from the outset, enabling operators to move to electric without accepting compromises in carrying capacity, usable space or passenger comfort.

Importantly, Treka has also focused on making the transition financially achievable in a highly cost-sensitive market where operators cannot depend on government grants to fund electrification.
Working closely with Renault Vehicle Innovation and its wider supply chain partners, Treka has focused on reducing vehicle and component costs to keep the acquisition cost as close as practically possible to its current diesel offering. The objective is to provide Local Authority and specialist transport customers with a viable zero-emission solution that is deliverable within real-world fleet budgets rather than relying on government grants.
Combined with reduced fuel costs, lower maintenance requirements, battery warranty coverage of up to eight years and Treka’s market-proven seven-year conversion warranty, the range is designed to provide operators with greater long-term cost certainty and meaningful whole-life savings across the vehicle lifecycle. The Renault platform also gives operators access to the Renault Pro+ commercial vehicle network throughout the UK for servicing and aftersales support, helping to support long-term vehicle uptime and fleet confidence.

The new range is available to order now, with deliveries to commence in Q2 2027.
