When Newcastle City Council needed to expand their social care transport fleet, they turned to a trusted partner – and we’re delighted they chose Treka for two brand new specialist vehicles. With these latest additions, Treka now makes up 75% of Newcastle City Council’s entire fleet, a reflection of the trust and confidence built through years of partnership.

The two new Mobility+ vehicles, built on the reliable Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform with automatic transmission, are already making a difference. Each one can flexibly accommodate either 16 passengers or 6 wheelchair users, adapting to whatever the day demands.

But it’s not just about capacity, it’s about getting the details right. Every vehicle features underfloor tail lifts for smooth boarding, single leaf glider door for easy access, and a comprehensive camera system including reverse and side-view cameras. Because when you’re transporting passengers, every safety feature counts.

This isn’t the first time that Newcastle City Council have bought Treka Vehicles, and according to Andrew Southern, their Business Development Officer “It was a Smooth and seamless process, it all started with meeting with Jane and then tender process. From point of ordering, the communication has been great and Treka have met delivery expectations.”
