East Yorkshire Community Transport partner provider Goole GoFar has taken delivery of a new Treka Mobility+ minibus to support its growing network of shopper services and community group transport across the region.

The 16-seat Mercedes-Benz Mobility+ represents a significant investment in accessible transport for the area, offering flexible accommodation for up to six wheelchair users. The coachbuilt vehicle features an automatic single leaf glider door, underfloor tail lift, and detachable seat mechanisms to maximise passenger capacity for different journey types.

Business Manager Christine Dales said: “We were kept up to date with information. Communication was very good. The vehicle met the specification as required and Delivery was earlier than expected”

The new vehicle will be based in Goole and joins a fleet of eight minibuses serving Goole and the surrounding area, three of which are now Treka vehicles. Goole GoFar’s previous brand-new Treka purchase was in 2013, making this latest addition their first new vehicle in over a decade.

The organisation chose the Mobility+ for its appropriate size for their routes and the strong flexibility it offers for wheelchair users. The coach-built design provides a smoother ride and greater passenger capacity for shopping trips where people travel with shopping trolleys, walking aids and wheelchairs that need to be stowed.

Funding for the vehicle came from the government’s Local Transport Plan, an Awards for All grant and donations from local businesses. The minibus will be used for regular shopper services as well as day trips, and Community Group use with drivers particularly welcoming the convenience of the automatic door system.

The Treka Mobility+ is built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis and combines accessible design with the comfort and reliability expected from a purpose-built community transport vehicle.
